Project Idea:
With the trend and progress of multimedia analysis, difference types of media contents have been taken as the source to analyze, like image, video, and music. For images, they can be roughly divided to photographic and painting. For the former, many aspects, techonologies, frameworks, and issues are all be explored. However, for the latter, it is still a virgin land. In our project, we would like to try to employ some painting-exclusive properties and features (like art-color usages, brush strokes) to explore their semantic content. We may focus on the style recognization of artists and classification for different periods and artists.
